Presenter: Judi Piggott
Is it time to incorporate your group as a not-for-profit society, a charity
(i.e., tax status), a collective, a cooperative or a social enterprise? Are
there other options? How do you make a choice for a form that will best
achieve YOUR group's intended mission?
Judi has been closely involved in the incorporation of several societies,
businesses and cooperatives, and has researched the new legal forms being
considered by the Province of BC. A brief overview of the differences
between all of these options will be followed by an interactive group
session, where the questions and practical experience of other participants
will be shared and we can conclude with a review of the guidelines and
forms that are specific to the options you are most interested in pursuing.
Location: Room W (5th Floor) in the Woodward's Heritage Building at
111 W Hastings Street, (at Abbott) Vancouver, B.C.
